The problem
Simba Group runs an internal SACCO for its 400+ staff across hospitality, telecoms, energy and property. Operations had been run on spreadsheets, with monthly statements emailed manually. Loan applications were on paper. Members had no real-time view of their savings, and reconciliation was a nightmare.
What we built
We built simbasacco.com, a custom SACCO management system. Members log in to see their savings, deposit via MTN MoMo or Airtel Money, request and track loans, and download statements. Admins approve loans, calculate dividends, and run reports in seconds instead of days. The system runs as a PWA so staff install it like an app on their phones.
The stack
PHP 8 with MySQL, Tailwind CSS, Capacitor for the mobile shell, MTN MoMo Open API and Airtel Money API for deposits and disbursements. Hosted on Baasa Cloud Ultra with daily JetBackup snapshots.
